Gaza University is an independent national university, and part of a wider Palestinian university education system. It was established in Gaza City to be an academic beacon that provides educational services for scientific and professional development and enhancement of the Palestinian society. On July 18, 2007, Gaza University initially earned recognition as a new higher education institution accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education. On January 27, 2008, the University received the final recognition from the Ministry of Higher Education to become a new institution of higher education in the academic year of 2008/2009. Later, it proceeded with the accreditation of its faculties and announced programs.

I have the honor to speak to you on behalf of the founders and board of directors of the Palestinian Company for Higher and Technical Education (Gaza University, GU).
The idea of establishing a university started in 2005 by a group of friends from Gaza interested in establishing an independent Palestinian National University in the Gaza Strip, focusing on quality control, and a leading multidisciplinary university with academic and research interests, and a model for a national university that meets international standards in terms of the ability to apply scientific research with societal benefits and to be a university for all Palestinians.
Through GU, we can achieve our ambitions in providing the Palestinian society with educated, scientific youth professionals who belong to this homeland, and meet the society needs and contribute to its development and well-being. Indeed, after painstaking and continuous efforts, facilities, and buildings were established. All-important equipment and devices are introduced to obtain the required credits from the Palestinian Ministry of Education
In 2008, the accreditation of three colleges with their various programs was issued by Palestinian Higher Education Institutions. This only achieved by the continued work and efforts of the board of directors, university presidency, academic and administrative staff inside and outside the university, in cooperation with the local community, and interaction enabled GU to achieve its goals and objectives.
GU was able to obtain not only credits for new faculties and programs, but also was able to gain the trust of the PME, institutions, the local community, and GU students and graduates. This is a source of pride for all of us, especially for a young university that, within a short period of time, now contains nine faculties with diverse and distinguished programs.

I am pleased and honored, on my behalf and on behalf of the Board of Trustees of Gaza University, to express my pride and admiration for this magnificent institution. This modern and accredited academic institution represents a solid scientific beacon that has been built step by step through the efforts of a group of dedicated individuals from our dear nation. It has become a promising scientific institution that paves its way locally, regionally, and globally despite the difficulties and challenges, both material and moral, imposed by the occupation and the repeated closure and blockade of the borders of the Gaza Strip.
Gaza University was launched as an idea in 2006 and then established as a licensed and accredited institution in 2009. It encompasses several faculties and academic programs including BA and diplomas, in the fields of sciences and humanities. Currently, it has expanded to include numerous master's programs in business administration, media, law, and education. The university currently comprises eight faculties offering 35 distinctive majors. At present, the university is actively seeking additional licenses to open new faculties and offer specialized programs.
The Board of Trustees tirelessly works, in collaboration with the University Presidency, to develop and advance Gaza University, aiming to attain its deserved position among local, Arab, and global higher education institutions. This is achieved through a commitment to quality and excellence by attracting competent individuals in various academic and administrative fields. The Board also seeks to secure financial and moral support for the university and its students.
In conclusion, I would like to appeal to the university staff, academics, administrators, the University Presidency, and its Board to exert further efforts in elevating and advancing the university. It has become a promising scientific institution that paves its way locally, regionally, and globally despite the difficulties and challenges, both material and moral, imposed by the occupation and the repeated closure and blockade of the borders of the Gaza Strip.
Gaza University was launched as an idea in 2006 and then established as a licensed and accredited institution in 2009. It encompasses several faculties and academic programs including BA and diplomas, in the fields of sciences and humanities. Currently, it has expanded to include numerous master's programs in business administration, media, law, and education. The university currently comprises eight faculties offering 35 distinctive majors. At present, the university is actively seeking additional licenses to open new faculties and offer specialized programs.
The Board of Trustees tirelessly works, in collaboration with the University Presidency, to develop and advance Gaza University, aiming to attain its deserved position among local, Arab, and global higher education institutions. This is achieved through a commitment to quality and excellence by attracting competent individuals in various academic and administrative fields. I have the honor to speak to you on behalf of the founders and board of directors of the Palestinian Company for Higher and Technical Education (Gaza University, GU).
The idea of establishing a university started in 2005 by a group of friends from Gaza interested in establishing an independent Palestinian National University in the Gaza Strip, focusing on quality control, and a leading multidisciplinary university with academic and research interests, and a model for a national university that meets international standards in terms of the ability to apply scientific research with societal benefits and to be a university for all Palestinians.
Through GU, we can achieve our ambitions in providing the Palestinian society with educated, scientific youth professionals who belong to this homeland, and meet the society needs and contribute to its development and well-being. Indeed, after painstaking and continuous efforts, facilities, and buildings were established. All-important equipment and devices are introduced to obtain the required credits from the Palestinian Ministry of Education
In 2008, the accreditation of three colleges with their various programs was issued by Palestinian Higher Education Institutions. This only achieved by the continued work and efforts of the board of directors, university presidency, academic and administrative staff inside and outside the university, in cooperation with the local community, and interaction enabled GU to achieve its goals and objectives.
GU was able to obtain not only credits for new faculties and programs, but also was able to gain the trust of the PME, institutions, the local community, and GU students and graduates. This is a source of pride for all of us, especially for a young university that, within a short period of time, now contains nine faculties with diverse and distinguished programs.

In addition, the university has opened this year a one year diploma in 20 vocational and technical programs relevant to the needs in the labour market.

Studying their courses with the focus on using English in teaching and learning, and studying by using books, foreign and international references and specialized periodicals.
Using computers. We will be ensuring that there is one computer for each student during the lectures and in the leisure time.

Objectives and features
The period of university education is one of the most crucial stages of education in a human’s life as it complements what has been achieved in primary and secondary education. Throughout this period, one’s personality is refined, and skills are enhanced so as to be qualified to start a career. We intend to offer the best of current technology to our students, and to employ the best educational methods. Thus, the technical and academic teams in the University decided upon the following objectives:
1Enhancing the educational achievement of the students, and supporting their intellectual development, and providing them with an opportunity to gain experience within the system of academic education.
2Equipping the students with vocational skills for future careers according to the country needs.
3Diffusing knowledge by providing higher education opportunities and specialties in various fields of applied sciences, humanities, and arts, and in turn providing the country with specialists, technicians and experts indifferent branches of science.
4Developing knowledge by encouraging and conducting scientific research. Assisting concerned authorities in solving the problems of the society and its related development issues and working to transfer the scientific knowledge into Arabic.
5Enhancing students' personality and their behaviors and positively directing them to serve the community.
6Improving the continuing education and outreach in various applied fields to serve the society, as well as to solve and avoid possible problems.
7Preserving the features of the Arab and Islamic civilization and publishing its heritage, as well as maintaining the moral values of the Palestinian society.
8Strengthening relations with Arab and international scientific universities and institutions.

Speech Of The Chairman Of The Supervisory Board
I have the honor to speak to you on behalf of the founders and board of directors of the Palestinian Company for Higher and Technical Education (Gaza University, GU).
The idea of establishing a university started in 2005 by a group of friends from Gaza interested in establishing an independent Palestinian National University in the Gaza Strip, focusing on quality control, and a leading multidisciplinary university with academic and research interests, and a model for a national university that meets international standards in terms of the ability to apply scientific research with societal benefits and to be a university for all Palestinians.
Through GU, we can achieve our ambitions in providing the Palestinian society with educated, scientific youth professionals who belong to this homeland, and meet the society needs and contribute to its development and well-being. Indeed, after painstaking and continuous efforts, facilities, and buildings were established. All-important equipment and devices are introduced to obtain the required credits from the Palestinian Ministry of Education
In 2008, the accreditation of three colleges with their various programs was issued by Palestinian Higher Education Institutions. This only achieved by the continued work and efforts of the board of directors, university presidency, academic and administrative staff inside and outside the university, in cooperation with the local community, and interaction enabled GU to achieve its goals and objectives.
GU was able to obtain not only credits for new faculties and programs, but also was able to gain the trust of the PME, institutions, the local community, and GU students and graduates. This is a source of pride for all of us, especially for a young university that, within a short period of time, now contains nine faculties with diverse and distinguished programs.
On behalf of the board of directors, I extend my thanks and appreciation to all academic staff for their efforts in participating in the construction of this national institution. I encourage you all to exert strenuous efforts, enhance your giving, and maintain your perseverance to bring our university to a prestigious and distinguished place among similar academic institutions not only in the homeland but also far and wide at the regional level, God willing.

During the past few years, GU has achieved noticeable efficiency and advanced progress at various levels, and has become a shining academy of science and scientific research by providing its students with scientific and educational requirements, qualified professors, academic guidance, advanced laboratories, and student activities. It provides them with an academic platform of scientific, cultural, research and training agreements with institutions and official bodies from inside and outside Palestine.
Gaza University continuously seeks to apply comprehensive quality control standards and spread their culture in various aspects of the educational and administrative processes, thereby reinforcing its position as a bridge of civilized and scientific communication with various scientific institutions and research centers locally, regionally and internationally. GU is committed to provide the job market with creative graduates able to play vital roles in the development of society economically, cognitively, and socially through appropriate digital, applied, and research disciplines that emerge from its mission and vision. In the same approach, GU will diversify its academic programs in line with market needs, social communication, creative environment, advanced curricula, and expected levels of access, as well providing the students with accessibility to international and regional academic platforms.

Speech by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees
I am pleased and honored, on my behalf and on behalf of the Board of Trustees of Gaza University, to express my pride and admiration for this magnificent institution. This modern and accredited academic institution represents a solid scientific beacon that has been built step by step through the efforts of a group of dedicated individuals from our dear nation. It has become a promising scientific institution that paves its way locally, regionally, and globally despite the difficulties and challenges, both material and moral, imposed by the occupation and the repeated closure and blockade of the borders of the Gaza Strip.
Gaza University was launched as an idea in 2006 and then established as a licensed and accredited institution in 2009. It encompasses several faculties and academic programs including BA and diplomas, in the fields of sciences and humanities. Currently, it has expanded to include numerous master's programs in business administration, media, law, and education. The university currently comprises eight faculties offering 35 distinctive majors. At present, the university is actively seeking additional licenses to open new faculties and offer specialized programs.
The Board of Trustees tirelessly works, in collaboration with the University Presidency, to develop and advance Gaza University, aiming to attain its deserved position among local, Arab, and global higher education institutions. This is achieved through a commitment to quality and excellence by attracting competent individuals in various academic and administrative fields. The Board also seeks to secure financial and moral support for the university and its students.
In conclusion, I would like to appeal to the university staff, academics, administrators, the University Presidency, and its Board to exert further efforts in elevating and advancing the university. I also address a call to the students, urging them to remain committed to their university, preserve it, and exert every possible effort to succeed and excel in their educational journey.

The tasks of the Finance Committee include:
- Approval of the annual budget proposal.
- Ensuring integrity and transparency.
- Receiving and monitoring donations.
- Ensuring the safety and legality of donation collection methods.
- Preparing reports for major donors and providing them with annual reports for tax purposes.
The tasks of the Academic Committee include:
- Developing strategic plans for the enhancement of all academic programs at the university and adding new specializations that align with job market needs.
- Reviewing recommendations regarding changes to the curricula and all aspects of academic systems.
- Supporting and organizing cultural, social, and sports activities at the university.
- Approving the curricula for academic departments at the university.
- Monitoring the academic development process of the university's programs.
- Maintaining continuous coordination with the Quality Assurance and Academic Development Department to identify the developmental needs of the university.
- Providing the university with advice and observations to improve the performance of the faculties.
The tasks of the Development and Projects Committee include:
- Evaluating proposed engineering studies for projects.
- Studying and rehabilitating buildings and facilities, improving their structural efficiency, and providing technical solutions.
- Assessing and studying major projects.
- Monitoring and evaluating technical studies for projects within the university.
- Monitoring the implementation of construction projects funded by donations.
- Participating in acceptance committees for completed projects by the Construction Department.
- Reviewing monthly reports on project implementation and summarizing the achievements of the Construction Department.
The tasks of the International Relations Committee include:
- Introducing the university's activities and gaining community support to build a positive reputation for the university and its branches.
- Establishing appropriate communication channels with the local, regional, and international community.
- Participating in the development of preventive and remedial plans to enhance the university's image in society.
- Contributing to the development of a specific communication strategy.
- Reviewing various publications issued by the university in terms of content and preparation.
- Connecting the university with universities and governments worldwide through continuous communication and participation in various events.
- Organizing national, social, and religious events.
The Friends of the University Program, under the supervision of the Board of Trustees, has the following objectives:
- Upholding the famous saying, "A friend in need is a friend indeed."
- Supporting the university morally, academically, and financially.
- Strengthening relationships between the university and the community, as well as fostering friendships with other universities.
- Providing assistance to the university and mobilizing support during times of tension, war, and unjust sieges that affect the lives and well-being of students.
- Participating in joyful moments, celebrations, and international conferences alongside the university.
- Unifying efforts and organizing work to achieve the highest possible benefit from the community and international solidarity provided to the university.
- Preserving the leading and distinguished role of various sectors of the local, regional, and international community, and their continuous efforts to provide all necessary support to continue the university's progress and work.
Through the Friends of the University Program, individuals and institutions can contribute to the growth and success of the university and play an active role in its development.
