Gaza – Gaza University participated in a workshop organized by the Ministry of National Economy, titled "Integrating the Workforce, Universities, and Economic Enterprises for Recovery." The event was part of the "Waffir" (Provide/Enable) initiative, which focuses on sustainable programs for practical training, professional qualification, job placement, and employment—all under the theme "Evolving Competencies… Expanding Opportunities."
Gaza University was represented at the workshop by Dr. Tareq Hajeer, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Dr. Raed Khader, Dean of the College of Intermediate Studies; and several specialized academics from the university.
The workshop aimed to foster partnerships and integration between higher education institutions and the economic and productive sectors. This collaboration seeks to align educational outcomes with the needs of the labor market and to develop sustainable training and qualification programs that enhance the proficiency of graduates, enabling them to engage effectively in the workforce.
During the workshop, the representatives from Gaza University emphasized the importance of building bridges of cooperation between universities and various economic enterprises. Such efforts ensure high-quality practical training opportunities for students and graduates, while preparing a skilled workforce capable of navigating economic and developmental changes and challenges.
Dr. Tareq Hajeer highlighted Gaza University’s commitment to strengthening its role in serving the community and supporting economic recovery and development. This is achieved by developing academic and professional programs that address labor market demands and improve employment prospects for graduates. For his part, Dr. Raed Khader emphasized the importance of adopting practical and sustainable initiatives that link education, training, and employment. Such initiatives help equip students with the necessary skills and experience, which in turn positively impacts the quality of educational outcomes and enhances students' prospects for integrating into the workforce.
